WindWater JOURNAL ENTRIES

Wind Water Journal EntriesOur new album, WindWater Journal Entries, is out and available on CD Baby, iTunes and other web sites. It’s a nouveau jazz record featuring this simple, poignant arrangement of The Shadow Of Your Smile (one of those great songs…that hasn’t been overdone), an instrumental version of Take Care Of My Baby (penned by Fred Newman and multiple Grammy Award-nominated songwriter Annie Roboff) and an updated version of Rivan’s Dance (with Premik Russell Tubbs channeling his inner Sidney Bechet reading and embellishing one of David’s most lyrical melodies). We break into some new territory by mixing our world fusion sensibility with avant garde jazz in a reworked rendition of the Petersburg Suite from the Castillo Theatre production of What Is To Be Dead? Highlights from the suite include David on world percussion, Michael Walsh on Erik Satie style piano and Premik on deep space clarinet and saxello. Other feature tracks are Lake St. Dream, a spontaneously composed piece ala 60s San Francisco bands and a reggae-influenced instrumental version of Donovan’s Wear Your Love Like Heaven.

DAVID BELMONT

david belmont

David Belmont is a guitarist/composer/producer based in New York City. His work spans a broad range of genres from lush ambient soundscapes to jazz/rock-based world fusion to angular avant garde jazz. While focusing mainly on original instrumental compositions, David’s music has, at times, featured eclectic cover material; e.g., a New Age arrangement of the Rolling Stones classic Moonlight Mile (WindWater Excursions).

His 2007 release, Postmodern Panache, features the smooth jazz hit Mr. Miles, the New Age anthem Sedona and Germania, a track still in rotation on the Music Choice Soundscapes channel…as well as an aural dedication to George Harrison, the WWE’s world fusion version of the Beatles’ Blue Jay Way. It can be purchased here. Downloads are available from iTunes and other music websites.

Vist his page on MySpace, where he is one of the top charting instrumental artists.
